Live Animal & Fish Policy - Country Critters Pet Store

At Country Critters Pet Store, we strive to provide healthy animals and accurate care guidance. Due to the unique nature of live animals and varying customer care practices after purchase, the following policies apply to all live animal and aquatic livestock sales.


Live Animal Policy


  • Live animals may be returned within 4 days of purchase with original receipt for a full refund or store credit.
  • Animals must be returned alive and in reasonable condition for refund consideration.
  • Refunds or store credit may be denied for animals showing signs of neglect, injury, improper care, abuse, or unsafe housing conditions after purchase.
  • Country Critters Pet Store is not responsible for accidental injury, illness, death, improper habitat setup, handling issues, nutritional deficiencies, environmental stress, or compatibility with existing pets once the animal leaves the store.
  • Customers are responsible for researching and maintaining proper husbandry, lighting, heating, water quality, diet, supplementation, enclosure setup, and veterinary care appropriate for their purchased animal.
  • All live animal sales are subject to manager approval regarding returns or exchanges.


Fish & Aquatic Livestock Guarantee


  • Fish returns require original receipt and a water sample within 4 days of purchase for refund consideration.
  • Water samples must pass basic water quality testing standards as determined by Country Critters Pet Store staff.
  • No refunds, credits, or replacements will be issued without water testing.
  • Country Critters Pet Store is not responsible for water quality issues, cycling problems, filtration failures, disease outbreaks, aggression, compatibility issues, improper acclimation, or tank conditions after purchase.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring appropriate aquarium setup, cycling, maintenance, stocking levels, temperature stability, and species compatibility before introducing new fish.


By purchasing live animals or aquatic livestock from Country Critters Pet Store, customers acknowledge and agree to these policies.
